Pre Race Information

The race takes place at 10.00 a.m. on Sunday 1st October.

Entry to the site is by e-ticket only for each occupant in your vehicle.

Number collection will be open from 8.30 a.m. and close at 9.45 a.m. from the gazebo near the large horse chestnut tree in the Bloomfield Arena.

Race briefing will be at the start area in the Bloomfield Arena at 9.50 a.m. Prize giving will be at 11.40 a.m. in the Bloomfield Arena, immediately after the Shire Horses have left.

Entry to the Osberton Estate is strictly via the A1 only between Worksop and Ranby and a one way system will be in operation. The entrance is well signed from all approach roads and the postcode is DN22 8JH. Exit is onto the B6079 Retford Road between Worksop and Retford.

ACCESS VIA A1 ONLY

DIRECTIONS:

Northbound – Access directly from A1. After passing over the A620 (Worksop/Retford), prepare to turn left in just over ½ mile (this is a small turning, with a short slip road, not a public road, taking you directly onto the estate). Pass over cattle grid, then straight on until you see PC signs, which will lead you to the site.

Southbound – from A1 take left slip road onto A620 (Worksop/Retford), then left towards Worksop passing under A1. Immediately turn right to come onto A1 northbound then follow above instructions.

Please have your e-ticket ready to be scanned for each occupant in your vehicle. If you don't, Security will not allow you to enter the site free of charge. If you have any queries regarding your e-tickets, please email [email protected] for further assistance.

Allow plenty of time to allow for possible congestion around the site entrance and car parks.

Once parked, head towards the entrance flags and registration will be in the event shelter close to the large Horse Chestnut tree at the edge of the Bloomfield Arena.

Please don't climb through the rope fencing around the arena at any time, but use the marked entrance.

Course Information

A course map can be viewed hereThe course is approximately 10k and fully marshalled and consists of undulating mixed terrain, grass, farm tracks and woodland. Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather conditions.

Ensure your number is pinned on your front and fully visible - especially at the finish line.

The race will start in the Bloomfield Arena, with runners and Canicross separated by a rope barrier initially, but you will merge before leaving the arena. The exit from the arena is via a standard 5m wide horse gap into the collecting ring. Please take care here and file through without pushing. As you then leave the collecting ring, you will be turned left onto the course. Again take care here and be courteous to other competitors.

The course around the main event site will be busy. Please be vigilant and aware of pedestrians and vehicles crossing the route. Once away from the main site, it will be much quieter.

There will be a drinks station and dog bowls at just after 3 miles. Please don't carry cups beyond the cottage or drop any litter/gel wrappers on the estate.

Canicross runners please clear up after your dog. All dogs MUST be kept on leads at all times on the Osberton Estate.

Headphones are not allowed for safety reasons.

If you see a runner in difficulty, please inform the next marshal.

The finish funnel will be along the hedge side, parallel to where you exited the Bloomfield Arena.

There will be a tail runner at the back of the field.

After you have finished, please return to the registration desk to pick up your post race goodies and medal (you can follow the walkway between the collecting ring and the Bloomfield Arena).

Have a great run and enjoy your day at Osberton International Horse Trials!
